Her Wolpertinger family owns a strawberry farm in a small alpine town, where she’s worked her entire life. She grew up with 4 siblings, her parents, and her grandmother.

When she sells her family’s goods at the local farmer’s market, she also sells handmade crocheted & knitted plushies & garments. The family’ clientele was mostly monsters, along with some humans mixed in as well.

A man bought some goods from her one day, and mentioned that she should try selling things outside of town to increase their customer base. She mentioned the idea to her parents, who weren’t very supportive due to unsavory human reactions & behavior.

Continued working at home, until she got a letter about Grimm Falls. She approached her family once more about leaving and they approved this time.

Charlotte was born to a family of Wolpertinger, a close-knit family who owned a private strawberry farm located in some tranquil alpine woods. She has 3 brothers and 1 sister, and is the middle child. She spent much of her time outdoors, and her siblings were her best friends growing up.

Her family made their living by selling their berries, jams, and baked goods to other monsters, and even some open-minded humans. As a kid, Lottie spent a lot of time between different positions. Picking berries, making the jams, baking the sweets, and even selling their goods. She was also a young prodigy when it came to crocheting, an activity that she loved to partake in with her grandmother and older sister.

When she was a teen, she was given more extensive duties in the family business. She would often take over the stand at the farmer's market where they sold their goods, and would even crochet small plushies and coin purses to sell for her own personal profit. She would also sell knitted blankets and scarves at times, though these took much longer for her to complete. Her small town loved her little creations, and made sure to encourage her when they could. She loved her little town, and the farm that raised her.

One day, when Lottie was working her family’s stand in the market, she was approached by a human she’d never seen before. This human was an incredibly handsome young man, who immediately caught her eye. He complimented her handmade creations, specifically a cream knitted scarf with small strawberries dotted across it. Swooning, Lottie sold it to him for a large discount. The man smiled as he stroked the soft scarf.

“We don’t normally see these kinds of handmade goods where we’re from.” He said passively. “It truly is quite lovely. You have great talent.” Lottie thanked him and struggled to find the courage to ask more questions. Before she could, he asked another. “Have you thought of travelling? I would love to buy more if you go to the surrounding cities.” Lottie shook her head, she had never thought of leaving home before.

“Ah, I understand.” The man nodded. “That’s too bad. I would love to return for more, but it’s a lot of work getting the whole family out here.” Whole family? Almost on cue, a young woman with a stroller approached him. The man gave the scarf to her, introducing Lottie to his wife and baby. Slightly brokenhearted, Lottie introduced herself with a jolly tone. The wife gushed about the scarf, and they bought some strawberry pastries for the road. Before leaving, the man handed Lottie enough money to cover the discount for the scarf, as a tip.

As the family wandered off to other market stands, Lottie felt her cheeks get warm as she looked down at the tip money in her hand. It was true that she had never thought of leaving this little wooded nook that she called home. But maybe it would be better to try travelling away from home, seeing what the world had to offer. Or maybe show the world what she had to offer. She smiled and decided to propose the idea to her family later on that day.

At dinner that night, Lottie told her family of the experience she had earlier that day. Though nervous, she also mentioned her eagerness to try leaving the farm. Her parents seemed worried as they told her they were unsure of that, that they don’t think someone with her “features” would get accepted wholeheartedly by the typical human population. This was confusing to Lottie, the few humans she knew from the market were incredibly kind and fair to her. But others weren’t like that, according to her parents.

Feeling defeated, Lottie retired to her room for the night and continued life as though this had never happened. But the seeds of independence and curiosity had been planted, and it occupied her mind day in and day out. As life continued on, Lottie had received a letter in the mail describing a haven for monsters to live without human persecution or wariness. It was like her prayers had been answered.

She brought the letter to her parents, and said she was going to pack her bags and order a ticket as soon as she could. Her parents still seemed worried, and asked if this is really what she wanted. Lottie nodded and explained she would turn around and come right back home as soon as she felt she couldn’t live alone. This seemed to slightly appease her parents, who also knew that she was an adult now. They couldn’t keep her here against her wishes.

The next Monday, her family said goodbye as she parted ways. She felt a little scared, but knowing that her family was right here for whenever she wanted to return, comforted her. She waved goodbye as the distance grew until her family was no longer visible. Removing her crochet hook and yarn from her bag, she smiled as she thought of the new adventure ahead of her.

Charlotte’s friendly demeanor makes her very easy to approach. Striking up a conversation is equally as easy, and Charlotte will genuinely love to hear what you have to say. She also makes a very loyal friend, employee, what-have-you. Once her loyalty is earned, it’s hard to break it. If you schedule something with her, you can be sure that she will show up. Her punctuality is one of her best traits, and she does everything she can to make sure her attendance is 100%. A small part of her does this in hopes that it inspires others to be more punctual as well.

She also loves to live in her imagination. It’s not uncommon to catch Charlotte daydreaming about flying amongst the stars, or napping in the warm sunlight on the soft grass. Though it brings her much joy, don’t be surprised to catch her slacking off every once in a while while she’s off in la-la-land. Along with her gentle nature, is her soft voice. While she normally doesn’t pay any mind to it, it can make it easy for others to speak over her, or for her to be misunderstood. It can come across as an unwillingness to stand up for herself. She is extremely generous, and will give you the shirt off her back. She often would give customers a little extra treat, and strives to leave a positive impact on others. However, this can also cut into profits and make things unsustainable since she strives for smiles over cents.

Lottie is incredibly easy to fool and prank thanks to her gullible nature. She is the person that would fall for the “gullible is written on the ceiling” joke… multiple times. Unfortunately, this makes it very easy for other people to take advantage of her. It’s very easy to push Lottie around, because even if she figures out your scheme (she probably won’t), she’ll probably wait patiently for it all to be over, rather than stopping it in its tracks. She aims to please, to an unhealthy degree. She is also quite timid and lacks the courage to speak up if something inconveniences her, or unwilling to grasp a better opportunity if she has to fight against others for it. This typically ended with her doing the jobs around the farm that her siblings didn’t want to do.

Wolpertingers are a Bavarian mythical creature. It is an amalgamation of different woodland animals, similar to the Jackalope. The classic Wolpertinger has a rabbit body, roe deer horns, wood grouse wings, squirrel tail, and fangs. However, Wolpertingers can be a mixture of any woodland animal.
